Turin lays claim to the title "Capital of Chocolate".
Chocolate as we eat it today in bars and pieces was created in Turin at the end of the 18th century. A specially of Turin is gianduja, a combination of chocolate with hazelnut.
Gianduja refers not only to Piedmonts famous chocolate but to
Piedmonts famous carnival
mask. In Italy, Carnevale is a huge winter festival celebrated
with parades, masquerade balls, entertainment, music, and parties.
Turin is
a great industrial, commercial and cultural center round which much
of the region's economy revolves. The main
attractions in Turin are the Duomo of Turin, the Porta Palatina,
the Mole Antonelliana and the Museo dell'Automobile.
