2 or more compete at a time. The one to keep the hula hoop spinning around their waist the longest is the winner.
Limbo contest.
Bubble Gum Contest
Pass out Bazooka bubble gum and have a bubble blowing contest.
3 legged races.
Scavenger hunt.
Ideas for prizes: sunglasses, combs, big ring, bubble gum, clip on earrings.

Foods to serve: hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, pizza, onion rings, root beer floats, and ice cream sundaes.
Set up a soda shop area with red/white checked table clothes. If possible use old fashioned sundae glasses. Hang silver stars from the ceiling (cover cut out stars with aluminum foil). Decorate walls with musical notes. Hang a menu on the wall (Hamburgers .50, Cheeseburgers .55, chili dogs, french fries: .15, onion rings .20, shakes .10, root beer float.15, cones .05).
Serve food on red trays or in red/white paper baskets (todays used by concession stands for hot dogs)
