Buckingham Palace the official London residence of Britain's sovereigns since 1837. Changing of the Guard is a ceremony that lasts 40 minutes when the soldiers who have been mounting guard at the palace go off duty and are replaced by the new guard.

Kensington Palace once the home of Britain's kings and queens and the setting for many great events in royal history. Parts of the palace remain a private residence for members of the Royal Family.

Houses of Parliament explore the Junior Parliament to learn about Parliament and Government. Big Ben is located in the Houses of Parliament. Big Ben is actually the name of the biggest bell within the St Stephen's Tower of the House of Parliament.

 

Cathedrals

St Paul's Cathedral, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, is one of the great buildings in the world. It was commenced in 1675 to replace an earler St Paul's that had been destroyed in the great fire of London in 1666. Its 360 foot dome is the second largest in the world (the largest is St. Peter's Basilica in Rome).

Westminster Cathedral London's leading Roman Catholic place of worshipwas designed by the architect John Francis Bentley. It was built between 1895 and 1903, and consecrated in 1910.
