French Artist Georges Seurat’s Birthday, 1859-1891
He is best known for the painting A Sunday on La Grande Jatte
Georges Seurat developed a way of painting known as pointillism. He used tiny dots of color, side by side, to make a larger image. When viewed up close it looks like a group of colored dots, but move further away and the bigger picture becomes clearer.
