21st World Hello Day

On this day, each person should say, "Hello" to at least 10 other people as a way to promote world peace.

Greeting Cards
Hello To You (poem)

Have children fold a piece of construction paper in half. Let children decorate the front of their cards with pictures or designs.

Read the poem "Hello To You". Write each greeting on the chalkboard. Children from ethnic backgrounds not mentioned in the poem may add their greetings to the list.

Have each child choose the greeting that he or she wants to use. Children write the greetings they have chosen on the insides of their cards. Assist children in writing if necessary. If they wish, they may decorate the inside of their cards after they have written the greetings.

Let children give the cards to family members or friends as a way to celebrate World Hello Day.

Prayer

Two little legs jumping all around
But when I pray my legs sit down
Ten little fingers wiggle every way
But I fold my hands when I pray
One little mouth to softly say
Thank You God for making me this way
